Missy grew up in Virginia Beach and has resided in Ashburn for 32 years. She earned her undergraduate degree in Government from the College of William and Mary.  After graduating from the George Mason School of Law, she began her legal career as a Staff Attorney at Fairfax Legal Aid. She then did Guardian ad litem work in the Fairfax J&DR court before joining a Tyson’s Corner domestic relations firm. She became an Assistant County Attorney with the Loudoun County Attorney’s Office in 1999, and in 2007  became the Deputy County Attorney for Community Services, Public Safety and Employment.  She served as the Chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee of the Virginia Local Government Attorneys’ Association, has served on the Board of Greater Ashburn Loudoun Young Life for the last 15 years and was Secretary of the Stone Bridge High School Athletic Booster Club.
